QMInventory is expanding its desktop workflow for organizing anime and TV libraries: you can build collections that include both TV and movies, work with network shares, and review how files will be organized before transferring them. Clearer source controls and saved network locations also make it easier to return to the places where your media lives.
Work with local and network folders
The collection builder now supports mixed TV and movie collections, including files on network shares. Saved and recent SMB locations are kept locally, so you can get back to folders you’ve used without entering their locations again. Collection source controls are also labeled and aligned to make choosing where to work clearer.
Review before you transfer
QMInventory is designed to make naming rules inspectable and show rename previews. Collection artwork and episode details, along with a complete mapping review, help you check how media is being matched and organized. For movie folders, the scan can flag cases where multiple video files appear—even when they use different formats—so you can inspect the folder rather than treating it as an obvious single-file match.
The workflow connects those steps from selecting a source through reviewing a preview and verifying a transfer:

The desktop workflow is intended for local files used with Plex and Jellyfin libraries. This makes collection preparation more transparent: you can review the proposed organization before files are transferred.
