Card authoring and playtesting in Fortress Clash are getting more connected: you can build richer card rules, find examples to work from, and check how cards behave in matches. Recent improvements also make previews easier to use and provide a clearer way to share feedback.
Build cards with more flexible rules
Card skills can now include conditional behavior and passive effects, with controls for excluding a skill’s source where needed. Rule authoring also supports reviewed proposals written in natural language, alongside persistent card rules and spells that can be interrupted while resolving.
When editing, you can search battle effects and card inspiration, compare card stats, and preview paired effects. You can also copy selected rules or draft details rather than replacing an entire card’s setup—useful when you want to borrow one idea while keeping the rest of your work intact.
Check cards in play
Playtest behavior has been refined around combat timing, including engagement, revival, and when a character’s death takes effect. Other rule updates address protections, damage triggers, poison, summons, and how separate skills resolve. These changes help bring matches closer to the intended card rules.
Starter match setup and default decks have also been improved, with reviewed card skills checked against playable starter matches. In the playtest view, readability and player controls have been adjusted so it’s easier to follow what is happening and interact with a match.
Share feedback
Shared forms for bug reports and feature requests make it easier to send feedback with relevant client context. A beta tester signup has also been added across supported clients.
